A social worker since 1971, M.Soc.Sc. from Hong Kong University majoring in social work.  K.Y. worked for the Social Welfare Department of the Hong Kong Government for 19 year.  During these 19 years, he served mainly young people. He was a Warden of a community centre, Warden of a reformatory school and Training Officer for the Department.  After emigrating to Canada in 1990, K.Y. worked as a drug addiction therapist at the then Addiction Research Foundation and then joined the Yee Hong Centre as Director of Social Services in 1994.  K.Y. retired in January 2019 as the Executive Director of Social Services.  During his years at Yee Hong, K.Y. grew the department from 5 staff to a team of over 200 staff.  The budget grew from $300,000 in 1994 to over $12 million when he retired in January 2019.

After retirement, K.Y. works as a consultant.  Currently, K.Y. is supporting a new charity to start community services for seniors in Vancouver, B.C.  K.Y. has also conducted a marketing research for a housing developer.  He is currently conducting social effectiveness training for people in Toronto and Vancouver.

​廖廣源，1971年香港大學本科畢業，1981年獲社會科學碩士，主修社會工作。本科畢業後，任職香港政府社會福利署19年，其間曾任職社區中心主任，男童院院長及培訓主任。1990年移民加拿大曾任藥癮研究中心小組輔導員，1994加入頤康中心，任職社會服務總監，負責發展頤康中心社區服務，2019年1月退休，時任職行政總監。任職頤康中心24年間，由一個5個人的小部門擴展至200名員工，由30萬一年營運經費擴展至每年超過一千二百萬。

退休後，廖廣源仍然為頤康中心提供顧問服務。他正在協助溫哥華一新開展的非牟利機構開展老人社區服務，并為頤康中心員工及社區人士舉辦卓越人際關係訓練，亦曾為一老人住屋發展商做市場調查。
